Cotswold Arcadians are pleased to present one of Shakespeare's early works, 'The Comedy of Errors', for their 2012 production. Interstingly, it was written at about the same time as his well-known tragedy 'Richard III', often played nowadays as tragi-comedy.
The play is set in the ancient city of Ephesus, and is a comic romp involving mistaken identities, infidelity and the suspicion of sorcery. Cotswold Arcadians can guarantee a summer evening of colourful, fast-paced absurdity in this, one of the shortest of Shakepeare's plays. After a picnic on the delightful lawns of Hatherop Castle, who could wish for more?
