ONE FLEA SPARE, by Naomi Wallace, was commissioned by the Bush Theatre, and opened there on October 18th, 1995 to international acclaim going on to win many awards. It has never been seen outside of London since.

London. Plague year.

On the last day of their quarantine, a wealthy couple’s house is invaded by two strangers - a sailor and a girl who might not be what she seems. And so another month of quarantine begins. Watched over by their jailor, these four must find a way to survive both the plague and each other.

Unlikely bargains are struck, and brutal games played in this searing and lyrical drama exploring the nature of compassion within the shadow of the grave.

Red Dog will be touring this extraordinary play nationally throughout October 2010. They are a professional theatre company producing outstanding text driven plays from around the world; plays that are critically acclaimed, and rarely seen in this country. Their style is contemporary and bold. Working with textile designer Corinne Hockley and video artist Davy McGuire One Flea Spare is both an installation art and performance piece.

Davy Mcguire has worked with Cirque du Soleil, The BBC Big Screen, and The V&A museum  amongst others. His work mixes together the mediums of film, animation, puppetry, theatre, video art, and illusion.

Corinne Hockley is an internationally acclaimed textile artist tcreating intricately stitched and embellished narrative pieces, using a wide variety of media and exploring themes of freedom and constraint.

Harriet Banks is composing the music and songs for the show. Currently she sings, plays and composes with her band 'The Lazy Susans' and teaches Ukulele and beginners Piano. In 2008-9 she was commissioned to work as lyricist alongside composer Pete Rosser, to write a cycle of 9 songs for the festival of Stroud Primary Schools Music Association. She also composes songs for Barnstorm Youth Theatre.

 The cast includes Ian Gain, Victoria Bavister, Chris Donnelly, Dan Maxwell and Kate Abraham. Directed by Sue Colverd, whose credits include Oxford Stage Company, Everyman Theatre, Travelling Light and Show of Strength this is a production not to be missed.
