Private Tutors

Stage Land Tutors UK are always recruiting new members to join our database of private tutors Nationwide.

Required skills and qualifications:-

1. Teaching Skills(desirable)
2. Qualified teacher status (Desirable)
3.Teach a musical instrument.
4.Teach singing/voice.
5.Teach dance.
6.Teach drama

All tutors must have experience within the performing arts industry. Becoming a private tutor is an excellent to develop your skills as a tutor, gain more students on your books, make friends with other Stage Land Tutors, whilst earning extra money, Working as a member for Stage Land Tutors can work when it is best for you, so when you take on private students this can be flexible, between you and your students. We will also work closely with various organisations to try and find you contracts, such as schools, colleges, youth projects, so will inform you of their polices and procedures as and when we are able to offer any such contracts.

So if you have experience we would really like to here from you.

Stage 1

Stage Land Tutors UK will assess all your documents prior to acceptance, this will enable us to access if your documents and your experience is suitable for our membership criteria. This will also enable us to promote your service to schools and colleges, youth projects and other services where young people are involved as well.

Documents:-

A current CRB disclosure (for further information) http://www.crb.gov.uk

Private tutoring must have their own space, or be able to travel to students home.

Copy or details of two current references.

A photocopy of your current passport/photographic identification.

Copies of your CV (Handwritten is also acceptable).

Your hourly fee.

A copy of your advert, also location/boundaries of work.

Cancellation charges.

How many weeks you wish your students to pay in advance.

Anything else you seem relevant.

Stage 2

Once we have accessed your application for membership, if successful your own personal shopping cart will be created, a member of our team will email and ask you to check out your details, once we receive an email back your membership will activated. Then an information pack will be released in the post as well as a certificate.

Stage 3

We will then submit your listings to Thompson’s local and/or yellow pages (they may contact you so you can verify you are running your own practice).

All practice tutors are required to undertake their own advertising/marketing such as:-

Local shop window advertising.

Local leaflet posting.

Press and publicity.

Local advertising.

Marketing in schools, colleges etc., and other organisations in your area.

Other resources/advertising you feel are important to promote are products and services.

Fees

Stage Land Tutors will not charge you a monthly management fee, nor any upfront hidden fees as this is against are ethics of our business. We will charge you an advertising fee only on finding you a student, and if you wish we can collect fees from the student on your behalf, this is called our management fee. Also any contract work we provide for you is a chargeable management fee.

Additionally if you wish to sell any products such as:- Voice tapes, videos and show tickets, yet again our management fee is applied.

Fees:-

1.£20 Advertising Fee (private Tutors once we find you work)

2.All other charges and fees 15% unless otherwise stated.
3. Schools, colleges, youth projects any other establishments 15%

Franchised Private Tutors

1.£17.50

2.All other charges and fees 12.5% unless otherwise stated.

Printing Materials

To compliment your business we have designed leaflets and business cards at a reasonable charge, also for your show we can design posters, leaflets, booklets for your business. Please contact us for a quotation.
