National
Voice Minority Supplementary School is based in Bath and aims to impact positively on the educational achievement, motivation and raise aspirations of black and minority ethnic young people, aged 13 – 16. Sessions run on Saturday mornings, from 11am – 1pm, at the City of Bath College.
This year we have introduced the Arts Award, and are currently completing a module in Black British Film. Next term, (January 2010 onwards) we are looking for practitioners to deliver sessions in the arts, in order to expand young people’s experience of varied art forms.
Art forms include:
• Performing arts
• Visual arts, crafts and design
• Literature, journalism and storytelling;
• Cultural activities
• Media, multi-media
• Music
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a project that encourages black and minority ethnic young people to explore the arts, whilst enabling them to complete a nationally recognised qualification.
We are keen to hear from all who have any ideas in this area, so if you or someone you know may be interested in delivering sessions or in being part of this project, please contact Michelle Kambarami on 01225 827830, or email michelle@bathnesrec.org.uk <mailto:michelle@bathnesrec.org.uk>
Please note – practitioners may deliver between 1 and 10 Saturday sessions over one term.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Michelle Kambarami
