Chris Garner

Chris trained as a director at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and as an actor at Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre. He divides his time between directing and acting.

Recent productions, as a Director, include: The Amazing and Preposterous Constance Smedley for STC; Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis for Salisbury Playhouse; The Graduate and What The Dickens! for the New Vic Theatre and Oliver Twist as Assistant Director.

As an actor Chris will be playing O'Brien in "1984". This Northern Broadsides/Dukes Theatre Lancaster/Stroud Theatre Company co-production will be touring nationally in the autumn. Chris has also performed for Hampstead Theatre, the RSC, Royal Court, Salisbury Playhouse, Bolton Octagon, Library Theatre Manchester, Birmingham Rep, New Vic Theatre, Stoke and many, many other theatres as well as regularly turning up on the TV and radio.
