BYDS is open to all young people, from the wider Brockworth area, who are in year 6 or above and have an interest in acting, drama or other creative activities.

What we do depends on our members. They come up with the ideas and together we try to put these in to practice. We use games and brainstorming to uncover the original ideas lurking in our minds. Some things we have done are: Based on self-made masks, we have written and performed plays at the Community Centre, we have performed a Christmas show at Horsebere House older people’s home. We did a piece of modern theatre art to highlight the plight of child-soldiers at the Bacon Theatre.

We get together every school week on Monday afternoon from 5.30 pm until 7.00 pm at the Brockworth Youth Centre in Court Road (opposite the library). As part of the youth service, we charge 50p a session, which explains our cheap and cheerful props and costumes.
